Kelly Batten, Vice President

I was born and raised in Rancho Bernardo. My parents were the first homeowners in the Westwood subdivision and watched Rancho Bernardo grow. My brother and I spent our summers at the Westwood Club as kids and then the "New Fields" (as we called it at the time) aka RB Community Park opened, giving our community a great venue to play soccer and softball/baseball.

Now my husband and I are raising our 4 kids in Rancho Bernardo and we enjoy spending our time at the Community Park. My older girls play competitive soccer and all 3 of my girls play softball. I do my best to stay involved with recreation in the community to ensure all our kids continue to have a great place to play.

When I'm not on the soccer or softball field watching my kids, I work for San Diego City Councilmember Lorie Zapf as her Deputy Chief of Staff. We both share passion for providing opportunities for youth and enhancing the City's Parks and Recreation programs.

My husband, Patrick and I met at San Diego State and have been married for over 15 years. He is currently serving in the USMC.
